One year on from their ninth full-length album ‘A Moon Shaped Pool’ and 20 years on from the seminal ‘OK Computer’, Radiohead are back on tour again, stopping off in Manchester for their only UK (non-festival) date of 2017. Originally intended to be 2 gigs at the Manchester Arena, the concerts were combined into one at Emirates Old Trafford, a massive venue with a 50,000 capacity. In a move that proved fairly controversial with fans, earlier this year Radiohead announced a very small, limited tour of venues around the world, as well as a clutch of festival dates. As part of this tour, the band conducted a three night mini-residency at Camden’s Roundhouse, a venue that only seats 5,000. I was lucky enough to make it to the closing night of these gigs, and here’s what I thought.
Two weeks ago, after five years of patient waiting by fans and a week of incredibly progressive (anti) social media campaigns, Radiohead released their long awaited ninth album: ‘A Moon Shaped Pool’.
